playing peek-a-boo with Lucy

Lucy woke up and I gave her a few snacks while I was making her lunch, and came in to see her playing peek-a-boo, then I started saying peek-a-boo and she kept doing it. SO CUTE!

Yes, she has bed head, I'm on my way to put pigtails in her hair:)

almost 31 weeks prego and lucy stands and walks!

What I am supposed to be:

What I am measuring:)

So I am feeling super duper pregnant. I am having a boy, I am almost 31 weeks, and this baby is measuring 3 weeks ahead of schedule. He is definitely bigger and laying different than Lucy did. Some lady at the carwash said that she knew I was having a boy because of how big I was and how low the baby was sitting.

I am getting to the point where I think I need more calcium. My muscles are cramping all the time, and it is SUPER hard to walk, or get up or sit down with out having a lot of pain. Evan is being a super trooper and helping take over my load of responsibilities when I ask for help. My sister Tina came down and helped me unpack the kitchen and laundry room/food storage.

Saturday I had to pray my way home driving from Costco and help move my leg with my hand to switch from gas to brake...scary, but I was blessed and made it home safely! Thank goodness!

Lucy is growing up and wants to make sure that we know about it! She is standing, and walking a little(holding onto things) and moves and gets up and down a lot! Sometimes going to bed is tough for her because she is so tired, stands up and doesn't know how to gently lay down again. I have had a few tips, and I think she is starting to get used to it. She loves cuddling with her blanket in her crib. We haven't had her use the blanket for a while, and now she loves it again.

I need to take a picture of my pregnant belly, I really am getting bigger and bigger and I know that I look like I am going to pop any second, but I am going in June 1 for a c-section, so I still have about 8 more weeks, less than two months, YAY!!!

Anyway, I guess I am babbling on, but wanted to "record" some updates:)

Happy Easter!!! From our little bunny

We thought she was cute in Target, didn't want to but them since we are trying to de-junk, but she sure is cute!

Happy Easter!

a lot of updates

So if you are wondering why I haven't posted pics of the house, or updated for a while, it is because life has taken over:) So I will try to summarize without writing too much:)

-Moved in-same day I went in the hospital (twice) with stomach flu
-Lucy had stomach flu, two colds and both ear drums burst. It was for her entire 10 month of life. So sad for her. I might say no to hanging out if your kids have been sick, I don't think I can go through a month like that again..HORRIBLE!!! I'm glad Lucy is finally back to her smiley self!
-Evan's Spring Break came and went.
-we caught 5 skunks and finally put up chicken wire to block the skunks from living under the deck
-tons of snow!!!
-we are slooooowly unpacking, wish my body was up for more
-my baby is measuring almost 3 weeks ahead of time, and we have decided to schedule a c-section for June 1 rather than risking infection and ending up in a c-section anyway, especially with such a big baby
-we bought a guest bed(it got stuck going down in the basement, we almost cut a hole in the wall to make it fit, but Evan and I work together well, and somehow managed to get it downstairs) we love visitors. Evan sliced his finger open this night and Lucy was especially fussy, our Friday night turned out a lot different than planned.
-been making plans for baby, family, house, cleaning other house, visitors, etc
-Evan is now going to teach new subjects and is learning lots
-Lucy is crawling everywhere, up on everything, and is starting to stand by herself, she likes to walk when Evan holds her hands.
-church is hard with Lucy-nap time, feeding, my nap time, etc Evan helps tons!
-couponing tons and finding deals on craigslist
-Evan set up Peter's crib(someone gave us a crib-with no bolts so we matched some at Home Depot, took 2 trips, two dressers, and a bookshelf)
-finding out new things about the house
-wishing I could get a massage everyday

Anyway, life has been busy but good. We are getting lots done, trying to settle in, and all stay healthy and well. Here are a few pictures..I will post more when we unpack more:)

Counting Lady Bugs while I sort clothes in Peter's room

Trying to get her fever down in the tub

Cleaning up the chairs we got for free off of craigslist

Evan and I kept switching off in this position with our sick little girl. None of us were getting any sleep.

Still sick, two trips to the doctor, and she finally got put on some antibiotics for her ear drums(just after having stomach flu)

Our beautiful snow. It made the tree sink down and touch the ground, when Evan tried hitting the snowing off, the branches flipped up and hit him, it was comical!

Our $5 toy from craigslist, it turns into a walked too. She is growing up so quickly!

Evan is so happy! The basement is turning into a very fun place to hang out. He just set up his pinball and arcade.

Lucy watching daddy set up Peter's crib.

28 weeks with Peter, I am further along now but I haven't been good at
taking or posting prego pics.

Target, Poop, and taking it like a man:)

So today Evan, Lucy and I went to Target to use our coupons for stocking up on diapers for our new little one. We only bought newborn diapers today, and while I was paying Evan walked out of the store to put Lucy in the car. I walked out and saw Evan holding Lucy by her hands and having her stand up. I just figured that he was letting her jump in the melting snow while they waited for me. As I get closer I start laughing as I see Evan covered in poop. I start helping undress Lucy (in the cold breezy air) and realize that the poop made it all the way up her back and neck, GROSS!

Then I start laughing more because I forgot to bring diapers in the bag, and then started looking for any diapers in the car, there was a size 2 (she wears a size 4), so we started changing her diaper(many many wipes later) and when we open her diaper, there was hardly any poop in it, no wonder it was all over her back! As Evan was trying to get this little diaper on her, the velcro rips off, and then we find another diaper to reinforce, so she was now wearing 2 diapers, and the extra pair of clothes I left in the car.

Evan still had poop all over his shirt, hands and arms, and while he cleaned up, I cleaned up her poopy car-seat. I am sure anyone looking at us in the parking lot was curious to what was going on.

Lesson learned, put the diaper on better, and ALWAYS have spare diapers in the correct size with you:)

New Goals, $, etc.

So we are almost moving into our new house, and with the new house comes new bills, priorities, etc. We had an emergency sewer line put in $10,000, skunk removal and skunk fence$, plus carpet$, new baby on the way$, and a few other things$. Let's just say it has set us back more than we would like. So we are trying to be creative with our budget until things settle down(probably take us a year to settle down). So I decided that we need to have new goals and strategy of how to financially make it this next year(until next tax season) and also including the Lord in all our decisions. Yes, I already do a lot of these but need to get better...so here we go!

So a few goals:
*$200 or lower for food, baby, all groceries

*Make date night a free night in all aspects

*Have a weekly menu that I repeat so that I know to the penny what I need and spend

*Read the entire Ensign every month(I have been struggling with that one)
*Get to the Temple AT LEAST monthly!!!!!

*Read the Book of Mormon more dilligently

*Keep a gratitude Journal

*Continue paying tithing even when I wish I had those extra dollars for bills
*Pray for divine intervention*Have faith and know things will pan out how they need to
*Keep all receipts and record every penny, even if it is for the $0.25 machine

If you have any suggestions for any of my goals or other goals I should incorporate, feel free to suggest anything, especially Menu ideas for cheap, my problem is affording fresh veggies and fruit without things going bad...I love fresh fruit, in fact I have been CRAVING strawberries-too expensive though. Or if you know how to make $ at home, I would love that too!

Anyway, wish us luck!

Moving Day is almost here!!!

So there was a delay in the carpet because it was on back-order, but we now have an official date, Next Monday and Tuesday it will be installed, which means that Saturday will be our big moving day, with the U-haul. We are sooooo excited. It has become a little more challenging being sick, having very expensive and unplanned projects come up, and just plain being pooped out! I think that if I weren't pregnant, this might be a little easier, but who knows. Last night a dear friend dropped off dinner to us, to which I am very grateful, Evan was so happy-no cereal for him that night:)

We already started moving stuff over, and the house is starting to take shape. We had great friends help patch, repair, paint and help us with support as this month has gone and passed since closing. I don't think we would have made it without all of your help, so THANK YOU!!!!

So, we are starting to move over, if you are bored on Saturday morning the 13th, feel free to join in the fun, plus it's one less trip to the gym right:)

Here are some sneak peaks of the kids rooms from Valerie and living room that my mom painted.

Oh and some fun pictures of Lucy trying to be like daddy, she already has the grip down:)

10 1/2 months old

So Lucy is growing up so quickly, I have been slower in taking pictures and blogging about her, but her it goes

Lucy:

Starting to crawl and move around a ton! She likes to get up on her hands and toes and making a 'V' with her body. She started crawling a little bit last week, and when I call her name while she tries she drops to the floor like she got caught or something..cute!

She just got her 2nd cold of her life, and it has been quite sad. She can't breathe, eat well, and is just miserable, hopefully it will pass soon. Thank goodness for baths.

Lucy is wearing size 12-18 mostly and some 18-24 month sizes.

She loves music, and tries to sing along.

Everyone loves her at church and likes to help with her which is a HUGE blessing since I am getting VERY pregnant with Peter and am overheated and tired a lot.

She eats well, not picky. SOOOO wonderful! She even eats snow and pickles like her mommy:)

She lifts her legs for us to change her bum:)

Her bedtime song is Silent Night, and as we sing it to her, she puts her hands up by her bed for sleeping position.

Her hair is growing and growing, starting to be a little shaggy, but is past being patient for me to give her pigtails, so for now it is and does what it does.

She LOVES LOVES LOVES little kids. She will squeal with delight and can't get enough of other little ones, thank goodness Peter is on his way:)

She is getting better at sippy cups, but she has been drinking successfully from my camelback water bottle for the last 3 or so months. I carry it everywhere I go, so she likes to steal my water. I had to get another one for her.

She loves her grandma, I think it will be SUPER cute when she can say grandma!!!

When she sees a fork or spoon, she wants some and starts grabbing the air, pumping her hands like she is going to grab it.

Evan makes her light up! He will walk in the room and she squeals, laughs, smiles, every cute action and sound comes from her.

She has been VERY patient and good as we have been fixing up the house and she has been hanging out with me!!! I can't wait for it to be done!!!

She also loves watching cartoons, and Finding Nemo is one of her favorite movies that she gets sucked into.

Anyway, she is a cutie pie, and I can't believe she will be one April 19.

Valentine's Day Weekend

So some friend's of ours were offering a $5 babysitting night at their house Saturday, so Evan and I jumped on that, and came up with a date night to celebrate Valentine's day. We dropped Lucy off and went to get a free $10 meal to share from Mi Cocina to take into our movie at AMC. (I called and they said they won't stop us from bringing in food, but it's not their favorite things for customers to do) We went and saw Valentine's Day, not the greatest movie, but it was cute.

We went to pick up Lucy, and they said she had a blast with the other kids and loved the cupcake that she ate:) She was cute. Evan went to wake her up to take her home, and she just was as happy as could be!

Today we went to church, and Lucy did well, she slept through the first hour of church and then was playful during Sunday school. I started feeling overheated, and couldn't make it through the rest of Sunday school or Relief Society-they need to fix the heating system. So Lucy and I hung out in the foyer until Evan came to bring us home. It snowed, and was beautiful! I love the snow, and will be happy it's gone for summer because then I get to swim, but I will miss it a lot, especially eating it:)

Evan made me lunch, and then let me take a 3 hour nap while he watched Lucy, and then I watched her while he slept, luckily she wanted to nap soon after he did:) Evan woke up and said "I might need some coaching" and then he made dinner, myValentine's day surprise:) He made chicken roll-ups, stuffing, potatoes, corn, and had sparkling cider. Yummy comfort food, perfect for the holiday and weather:) Lucy loved it too, not sure if she's supposed to have corn, but she loved it!

A picture of our new sewer line getting put in, that they have to dig up and fix tomorrow:)

Pictures of Lucy relaxing:)

Pregnancy and a few almosts

I am 23 weeks pregnant, wahoo! 17 more weeks to go!!!! I have gestational diabetes, and have a high risk pregnancy. Crazy times!!! I have been feeling alright, probably mostly because I am so tired and caught up fixing our new home, dealing with contractors, etc. so I don't even think about anything else. So mostly, I am just tired, and by 5pm I am ready for bed!!!

My little baby boy kicks me all the time and Evan loves feeling him, he sings to him a lot, very cute!

Lucy is growing up. She is finally starting to crawl a little and pull herself up on things. I will be so happy once we have new carpet in our home and no more stinky wood floors, Lucy hit her face once, not fun-good thing a water bottle calmed her down.

She is almost 10 months old, and loves so much!

She loves spaghetti, raviolli, meat balls, pears, veggie snack sticks-the potato chip kind, goldfish, cheese sticks, chocolate chip cookies, yogurt, chicken nuggets, ramon noodles and a few other things that I can't remember:)

A few almosts:

we almost caught the skunks
Lucy is almost crawling
we almost flooded our basement, good thing we got a new sewer line
my mom is almost here to stay for a week or so
we are almost ready to paint and carpet
and then almost ready to move in
Evan almost always is cooking dinner now
I almost got my entire legs shaved, it's hard to find all that blonde hair

I am grateful for my almosts, it means a lot of blessings are headed our way

Off to another busy day...thanks for all your help and prayers our way!

Pepe Le Pew and Chocolate Chip cookies

So last time it snowed, and then today when it snowed we had a special visit from Pepe Le Pew. Apparently he has been living there for a while, and so today, the fun exterminators are going to try to find him a new home..YUCK! I hope there is only one and that Pepe doesn't have little friends hanging out as well.-just another fun hiccup along the way of getting into our new home:)

Because of the snow, my electricians canceled on me today(well they claimed "something" came up) but anyhow we are staying home today. We went to Kaiser and the Chiropractor and the roads were crazy to drive on..I do not do well driving with lots of snow, I prefer to watch, play in and eat snow only:) So hopefully we will be skunkless tomorrow, the electricians will finish(I am actually very pleased with them), and the carpet people are coming to measure for carpet we ordered.

Lucy and I were playing and watching cartoons, and then I decided to see how she would do with a chocolate chip cookie, I forgot chocolate melts. I broke off a piece for her, and she would NOT let go of it or give it back. Let's just say that she LOVES them, chocolate got everywhere and I had to PRY the last remaining bits from her hand. I wanted a picture, so I sneaked a quick one, not the best, but boy was she messy!!!

More to do, and more before and after pics of the house to come..

CHEERS!
